Shield & Compass Therapy is built on trust, guidance, and compassionate care, offering clarity and direction to individuals, couples, and families on their journey.

Josh is a marriage and family therapist with an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oregon Tech. He works primarily with couples and relationship dynamics, and also supports individuals, families, first responders, service members, and veterans. His own military service shapes the way he works: grounded, adaptable, and steady under pressure.
His approach is collaborative and person centered, drawing on evidence based methods like cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, and family systems work. Josh believes every person carries the potential for real health and wellbeing, and he works alongside you to reach it at your own pace.
You feel emotionally protected before anything else. Confidentiality, respect, and steadiness shape every conversation.
Therapy should not feel confusing. We help you understand what you are facing and where you are headed.
No two people or families are the same. Your care is tailored, thoughtful, and built around you.
Healing is not about weakness. It is about resilience and the quiet strength it takes to keep going.
Calm, grounded, and reassuring. A steady presence that holds firm when things feel uncertain.
Plain language and direct, compassionate guidance. We offer direction, not pressure, and never oversell healing.
